This weekend, our Executive Board attended the Chicago Carlson Leadership Academy. Our Executive Board utilized this weekend to network with other chapters, comparing notes and building friendships with other brothers. The weekend was focused heavily on discussions between the same officers in different chapters across the Midwest Region. With SigEp volunteers coming in from all over the country to help us expand upon our leadership skills, this weekend was extremely valuable to all.
Our Vice President of Communications was very pleased to be able to speak to other chapters about how their social media platforms were performing. Andrew has been hard at work with restructuring all the social media platforms to allow us great success. He took a lot of notes regarding what other chapters have done and what they are doing in the hopes of further improving our social media platforms. Andrew’s main highlight from the seminar was “…being able to network with other Vice Presidents of Communications, which can lead to future success on the platforms”. We are already very proud of Andrew for his success in the social media presence of our chapter, gaining national headquarters attention in the best way all semester.
For our chapter President, Ammar really enjoyed networking with other chapter presidents and just talking about how chapter brotherhood was. He also enjoyed seeing a lot of officers from previous seminars, such as Life After College, and being able to catch up with them. Many friendships were also created with many contacts exchanged for future conversations and potentially even events with other SigEp chapters in the future.
All in all, our executive board really enjoyed their time at Carlson this weekend, both from an educational perspective and just a bonding perspective. We can’t wait to see all the positive changes to come with the attendance of Carlson this year!
